In October 2010, ORIGIN DIRECT installed approximately 130m² of varied width, European Oak Flooring of an engineered construction to this stunning architecturally designed detatched property in the small village of Wetheral.  The 21mm thick floor boards comprising of 180mm, 160mm & 140mm in width were installed throughout the ground floor.  The property has an inviting Hallway and we have installed the floor boards in such a direction so as to lead you down through to heart of the home being the Kitchen.  The adjacent rooms being the Lounge, Study and Playroom have been installed in the opposite direction to take advantage and accentuate the length of these rooms.  A major criteria from the client was positive heat transfer from the Underfloor Heating system through the timber floor and for this reason, we fully bonded the flooring to the subfloor using a specialist flexible wood flooring adhesive.  This eliminates air gaps assisting with heat transfer

Originally, the flight of stairs in this property were stained Pine and carpeted which have now been given a stunning lease of life by painting the hand rails, spindles and stingers with soft subtle white and we have overlaid the treads and risers with Solid Oak.
